I think aside from Christmas, Valentine's Day may be my favorite "holiday".
I know a lot of people roll their eyes at sweet V-Day, but I've always enjoyed it-single or not!
Maybe it's all the fun heart decor, or maybe it's because it's the first breath of fresh air since gloomy, awful January. Spring is on the horizon, and we can almost feel the warmer weather and smell the flowers. I heard birds chirping the other day and just about lost my mind with excitement. I think I may have even organized my closet. Why does Spring make us want to deep clean our entire house and throw everything away? I love it!
PP (Pre-Penny) I used to always be on the lookout for what Marcus would have to surprise me with. He has always upstaged me when it comes to gift-giving, but let's be honest, women are just more fun to shop for.
That being said, I just don't expect or look out for those gifts anymore ever since having a baby. Things are great and fun, but if something is being bought, I want it to be for her. Maybe that's a mom, or even new mom thing. It's funny how becoming a mom totally shifts your way of thinking.
We have never been a couple that went out to a fancy restaurant for a romantic dinner.
It may be the homebody in me and the idea of fighting crowds on such a busy night makes me cringe. I would rather have a quiet night at home and cook or order take-out. That's probably what we'll end up doing this year, which is fine by me.
I hope you all have a great V-Day, eat lots of candy and hug on someone you love!
