A Solution to Traditional Crib Bumpers
I was just about ready to trade my iron crib in for something a little "softer" for my Penny after she kept bumping her head on those cold iron bars. I originally purchased this plush, soft crib bumper for her from PBK, and then immediately pulled it out when I had her and read how even bumpers aren't considered safe anymore due to suffocation risks. I know a lot of people that used bumpers with all their babies and they said they were fine for them, I am just super duper paranoid and needed a different solution.
I began researching "safe bumper alternatives" and came across this company that sold vertical bumpers for the crib rails. They basically just wrap around each set of bars, or rails and zip to secure in place. They are soft and secure. Yes and yes, This is exactly what I needed. The company is called GoMamaGo designs, and you can find all of their awesome products here.
They are based out of San Antonio, and I am all about supporting a local Texas business. I called and spoke with someone directly. She was completely friendly and helpful. She even took the time to explain how to place the bumper on each rail. I told her I have a Bratt crib where each rail is essentially made up of two rails per section. They were way ahead of me and of course had tested these bumpers on multiple crib brands. She was familiar with the Bratt cribs, and told me they will fit, it would just be a tight fit, which was fine by me. She said I just needed to decide which way I wanted the zipper to face before I zipped it up. She was right. Once you zip that thing up, it is not moving. I decided to have my zippers face the outside of the crib, just so her head wouldn't be rubbing against the zipper. I placed my order during the conversation around 3pm that afternoon. She said I could expect the delivery in the next few days. The order arrived at my door the very next day after lunch. I did not pay for next day shipping either. I was really blown away with their customer service.
I have been very pleased with this product, and feel it solved all of my concerns. If you have a baby that bangs their head on crib rails, or if you are just nervous about having a traditional bumper in the crib, I would absolutely check these out!
